A side project I completed was my older son's costume: the Lego Bionicle named Kopaka. As of October 2003, there were no commercially available Lego costumes so the solution, as usual, was to make one. This was constructed using foam rubber, styrofoam and a dish drainer. I mounted a flashing red LED within the right eye socket and placed blue plastic over the left eye to simulate the appearance of the mask. Overall this was a fairly satisfying reproduction (I was quite pleased with the sword/ski carved out of styrofoam). |
