On Halloween night, we wound up having an informal Halloween party with my wife's coworkers. She works at a marketing & design firm and we invited several people from the creative group over for pizza, pumpkin carving and casual Halloween festivities. In honor of the saucer theme, several of them spent a weekend or two before creating their own alien masks out of paper maché, complete with black screen eye/mouth holes and glow-in-the-dark paint. The masks looked phenomenal, especially under a black light, and all together we turned Halloween into a true alien-fest.

Visitors to the house loved the alien characters and requested photos of their kids and themselves alongside the creatures in front of the saucer. They really made quite an impression and I'm grateful to them for following through on the alien theme so well. Between the lights, sound and smoke, we had our own little X-Files production going.

All in all, Halloween was a great success, and we're already batting around ideas for next year...
