Here are several of the panels that have been bent by connecting wires across the sides of each panel. In the second picture, the shape of the saucer is starting to become apparent while it sits upside down on the grass.
Again, since I was lacking in math skills, I imagined the panels would behave a certain way once I had all of them assembled and connected. This turned out not to be the case, but I was satisfied since I was able to get the saucer frame to curve.
PVC's flexibility is both its strength and its weakness. As a construction material, it's very easy to work with, but it is also not very structurally stable without a fair amount of support. |
